Zoology Museum

After taking your kids along to the `chocolate museum,’ do not miss out on taking them along to the Zoology museum too. They will cheer in delight on viewing the exhibits that are found on display over there. Some of the best collection of stuffed animals in the world can be found in this building that has been artistically designed by Lluis Domenech i Montaner.

It is a well known fact that both kids and their parents never tire of viewing most of the exhibits over here. You can be rest assured of finding the entire animal kingdom over here. The exhibits in the Zoology Museum of Barcelona include insects, birds, and mammals.

This place is for kids, hence there are no admission fees for those who are less than twelve years of age. Adults who are interested in gaining a free entrance should visit this museum on the first Sunday of each month. It is interesting to note that this museum is also known as the `Castle of Three Dragons.’

You just cannot miss the huge skeleton of a whale and also that of a mammoth. The exhibits on the ground floor are temporary whereas those on the upper floors are permanent. The permanent exhibits include attractions like stuffed mammals, collection of bird’s eggs plus preserved amphibians, reptiles, fish, and mollusks.
