Palau Reial Major
This is the place to visit if you are interested to know more about the city and its rulers. In fact, this palace was the Barcelonan residence of the Count of Aragon. Later on, especially during the Roman period, it became the residence of the local governor. After that, Visigoth Ataulfo owned this building. This place is a must visit for those who are interested in the Romanesque style of architecture.
This becomes apparent the moment visitors check out the façade of the building. The building as it stands today has witnessed many changes and additions.
Ask someone to point out the Tower of King Martin to you. This exact spot was previously used both as an observatory and as a viewing point.
Take some time and try to find out more about the building and you will discover that it consists of three specific edifices. They are the Salon del Tinell, the Palau del Lloctinent, and the Palatine Chapel of St. Agatha. King Peter IV, Charles V, and King James II respectively constructed these three edifices.
This spot is a must visit for those who love architecture as there are many interesting sights for them to see.
